About Submission and Journal Operations: Each submission is reviewed first by the Journal editorial team and is considered on individual merit, quality and suitability to our journal audience. Content of each manuscript submission is reviewed to ensure that it is consistent with basic public health concepts, complies with the goals/aims of the Texas Public Health Association (TPHA), and is appropriate for our journal, keeping in mind our non-profit status. If initial review is favorable, your manuscript will be forwarded for outside peer review by expert reviewers in the specific topic area. Original research and public health practice manuscripts will be reviewed by experts in the field for sound scientific methods. We welcome your suggestions for at least 5 potential reviewers in the topic area of your paper who were not involved in any way in your project, writing of the manuscript, or any other phase of the study or program. Please list suggested reviewers' names, email addresses, and affiliations (if known) on your submission letter or email. Doing so will greatly enhance the speed of the review process! All documents must be submitted electronically. Reviewer comments will be forwarded to the corresponding author. It is the responsibility of the authors to reply to editorial and/or reviewer comments in a separate document stating how each comment was addressed and where in the manuscript the revision was made or provide reasoning why it was not addressed in the manuscript. All suggested revisions must be made prior to re-submission. Failure to do so in a timely manner may result in delays in acceptance or complete rejection. Failure to resubmit within 90 days will result in removal of your manuscript from further consideration. If you choose to resubmit the revised manuscript after 90 days, your manuscript will be treated as a new submission. Accessibility of our quarterly journal issues: Beginning with the Winter 2020 issue, our journal will be provided to our members and subscribers electronically only. Our journal is NOT an "open access" journal, and copyright of all content belongs to TPHA. Please do not share content with others without obtaining permission.
